Director - Counterparty Credit Risk
A leading Global Asset Manager is seeking a Director level candidate to join Credit Risk management function in New York. The role focuses on Leveraged Finance for Corporates and sits within the firm's independent risk function and is responsible for evaluating and overseeing direct and indirect corporate credit exposures. The successful candidate will have a strong Leveraged Finance background, own generalist counterparty coverage, and have Front Office exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent fundamental credit analysis of leveraged corporate credit exposures
- Build and review detailed financial models including base, downside, and stress scenarios
- Prepare clear, decision-oriented risk memoranda for senior risk leadership
- Hire, train, and manage a team of experienced junior credit professionals and take ownership of the team's work product
Qualifications:
- 7 - 10 years of experience in corporate credit underwriting or credit risk within corporate credit, leveraged finance credit risk, direct lending / private credit risk
- Strong experience underwriting corporate borrowers, including three-statement cash flow modeling and leverage and coverage analysis
- Ability to assess borrower risk and communicate complex risk assessments
- Experience communicating with senior members of both risk and business making clear, defensible credit recommendations with the ability to defend credit recommendations in approval forums
