DeFi Quant Engineer (Rust/Solidity)

Our client is a venture-backed firm building advanced digital asset trading technology to drive liquidity across centralized and decentralized platforms. They operate in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment with a flat structure and a founding team that combines decades of experience in traditional finance and digital assets.

They are seeking a DeFi Quant Engineer with strong analytical skills and technical expertise, ideally from a background in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering. The role involves working on on-chain market mechanics, liquidity strategies, and connectivity across AMMs and orderbook venues. Candidates passionate about areas such as DEX-CEX arbitrage, MEV-aware routing, and emerging strategies like just-in-time liquidity provision will thrive. This is a high-impact position offering close collaboration with the founding team and significant responsibility from day one.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, or computer science.
  • Strong programming skills (2+ years) in Rust and Solidity.
  • Excellent understanding of on-chain markets and trading opportunities.
  • Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems for on-chain data processing or trading.
  • Proficiency in writing high-performance, multi-threaded, and asynchronous code.
  • Experience with scalable distributed systems interacting with L1/L2 networks.
  • Solid understanding of databases, SQL, and efficient state/query modeling.
  • Comfortable with Linux/Unix, AWS, Git, Docker, and modern DevOps workflows.
