Database Engineer
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and optimize large-scale columnar database systems, with Vertica as a core technology
- Design and build high-performance data pipelines supporting analytics and real-time decision-making
- Lead performance tuning, schema design, and automation efforts
- Work closely with engineering and business teams to support data-driven initiatives
- Balance independent ownership with collaboration across a global team
Technical Skills & Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in database engineering, data infrastructure, or related roles
- Strong experience with columnar database systems, particularly Vertica (required)
- Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg and modern table formats
- Strong understanding of Parquet and analytical data storage concepts
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Working knowledge of PowerShell and/or shell scripting
- Experience with performance tuning, data modeling, and large-scale analytical workloads
