Credit Data Analyst
Purpose:
Perform written credit analyses of member institutions-including commercial banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and community development financial institutions-to assist management in mitigating and managing credit-related risk. Conduct micro and macro financial and economic analyses of related industries to support prudent lending and collateral decisions. Support credit risk management processes through data-driven analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform written credit analyses and monitor the financial condition of member institutions using tools such as S&P Market Intelligence, CapIQ, regulatory call reports, SEC filings, business plans, annual reports, and confidential regulatory examination reports. Summarize findings in written reviews to support credit decisions and establish or adjust collateral and lending requirements.
- Attend meetings with member institutions to discuss financial condition and credit risk profile, incorporating insights into analyses as appropriate.
- Execute models designed to evaluate credit risk for financial institutions, interpret and report results to management to assist in collateral and underwriting decisions. Conduct data analysis, assess model performance, and report findings and recommendations.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI and Microsoft Excel to support decision-making across underwriting and credit risk teams, ensuring adherence to regulatory credit risk parameters. Develop Python scripts for data cleansing, automation, statistical modeling, and efficient reporting.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement and risk mitigation, focusing on financial data from banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and related internal lending data.
- Collaborate with Information Technology, Project Management, and Operational Risk departments to manage End-User Computing (EUC) processes, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist with various credit risk and financial assessments for member and non-member institutions, including data aggregation, preparing risk assessment reviews and reports, and supporting management and underwriting teams. Continuously evaluate and enhance credit risk processes for efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion.
- Develop skills related to credit and financial risk analysis through ongoing learning and professional development. Stay current on industry events and developments that could impact member institutions and lending parameters. Participate in internal committees and working groups as assigned, and assist with special projects and remediation activities related to credit risk.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field required; advanced degree or professional certification (CFA, FRM) preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in financial/risk analysis, analytics, or business intelligence, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) required; advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and Python preferred.
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with management teams. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and independent time management.
- Must meet all background and security requirements and be able to work full-time while upholding the organization's guiding principles.
