About the Opportunity
A leading independent insurance consulting and advisory firm is seeking a Consulting Actuary to join its growing actuarial practice. This organization partners with insurance carriers, MGAs/MGUs, program administrators, self-insured entities, and emerging insurance technology companies across the property & casualty market.
With a national footprint and a team of experienced insurance professionals, the firm provides a broad range of consulting services spanning actuarial science, product development, regulatory support, analytics, compliance, and business strategy. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, interact directly with clients, and influence important business decisions across the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage actuarial consulting engagements for a variety of insurance industry clients.
- Develop pricing analyses, rate indications, and profitability studies across commercial and specialty lines of business.
- Conduct class plan reviews, benchmarking studies, and competitive market analyses.
- Support product development initiatives, including coverage enhancements and new product evaluations.
- Perform reserve analyses, self-insured retention reviews, and funding studies.
- Assist with insurance regulatory filings by preparing actuarial exhibits, supporting documentation, and responses to regulator inquiries.
- Review and validate actuarial work completed by junior consultants and team members.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare professional reports, presentations, and project deliverables.
- Partner directly with clients to understand business objectives and deliver tailored actuarial solutions.
- Contribute to project proposals and support business development initiatives.
- Stay current on industry developments, emerging trends, and advancements in actuarial methodologies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of actuarial experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
- ACAS or FCAS designation required.
- Personal or Commercial lines experience
- Strong background in pricing, reserving, and actuarial analytics.
- Familiarity with regulatory filings and actuarial support for insurance departments is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and actuarial modeling tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
