Selby Jennings is engaged with a buy-side shop looking to add focusing on capital raises and acquisitions via SPAC to build a portfolio where companies can access public capital and utilize this platform to build and grow. This team is spearheaded by industry leaders coming from top names in Investment Banking, Hedge Funds, and have compiled a team of sharp individuals to guide their portfolio companies focsed on emerging industries.

Ideal candidates are current Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development professionals with 2-4 years of experience (ideally with SPAC transactions), and looking to move into a role with a unique career path between PE, IB, or CorpDev, but with strong upside potenital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing & Evaluation

    • Identify and assess potential acquisition targets aligned with our portfolio strategy.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to prioritize opportunities in sectors such as AI, FinTech, Energy Transition, and Consumer.
  • Transaction Execution

    • Support end-to-end SPAC business combination process, including valuation, structuring, and negotiation.
    • Prepare financial models, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning for target companies.
    • Assist in drafting investor presentations, board materials, and regulatory documentation.
  • Strategic Advisory

    • Work closely with senior leadership to develop acquisition strategies and integration plans.
    • Coordinate due diligence across legal, tax, and operational teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Portfolio Management

    • Monitor performance of acquired businesses and identify opportunities for operational improvements and follow-on investments.
    • Support capital allocation decisions and reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
    • Exposure to SPAC transactions, M&A, or IPO processes highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise.
    • Strong understanding of SPAC structures and capital markets.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
