Project Overview:
We are seeking an expert contractor to lead the onboarding and integration of the SS&C Sylvan product, focusing on the conversion and modernization of SQL stored procedures to Python-based solutions within an AWS cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end conversion of complex SQL stored procedures to efficient, maintainable Python code.
- Oversee the integration, configuration, and automation of SS&C Sylvan product workflows, driving the onboarding process.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including developers, DBAs, DevOps, and product owners, to assess requirements and deliver project milestones.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for continuous integration and deployment.
- Utilize AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, EKS) for scalable architecture, automation, and deployment of project components.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform for AWS resource provisioning and management.
- Document technical solutions, workflows, and best practices to ensure clear project handover and maintainability.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support throughout all project phases.
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and propose innovative solutions during the SS&C Sylvan implementation.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrable expertise in SQL stored procedure analysis, optimization, and conversion to Python.
- Deep hands-on experience with Python, with a focus on backend data processes and workflow automation.
- Advanced proficiency in AWS stack (S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, EKS) for cloud-native application development and deployment.
- Strong command of GitLab CI/CD pipelines; ability to set up, maintain, and optimize workflows.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation and cloud resource management.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Some experience in the financial services industry and financial platform integrations experience is a strong asset
