Associate Product Manager - Fintech
Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading capital markets fintech seeking an Associate Product Manager to support the strategy, development, and rollout of investment technology initiatives for the firm's Fixed Income Electronic Trading team. This role is ideal for a product professional with foundational front-office trading exposure who is eager to grow product ownership skills while working closely with senior traders, product leaders, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the product roadmap for Fixed Income electronic trading platforms under the guidance of senior product leadership.
- Partner with traders, portfolio managers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows, and translate user needs into product features.
- Assist in defining and documenting product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria using JIRA and Confluence.
- Participate in product discovery activities, including user interviews, workflow analysis, and problem definition, to help shape effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA, and other technology partners throughout the development lifecycle.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate with Technology, Business, and Project Management teams to ensure delivery milestones remain aligned and on track.
- Help prepare product updates, demos, and status communications for internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Support post-release reviews by gathering feedback, tracking issues, and assisting with iterative product improvements.
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or related roles within financial services or fintech.
- Exposure to Electronic Trading platforms; Fixed Income or Credit Markets experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with front-office trading environments and interactions with traders or portfolio managers.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams with guidance while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Eagerness to grow product management skills in a fast-paced, front-office trading technology environment.
Expected Total Compensation: $120,000-$150,000 base + Yearly Cash Bonus
