Real Estate Asset Management Associate - Dallas, TX
An established real estate investment platform is seeking an Asset Management Associate to support the oversight, performance, and strategic execution of a diversified portfolio across residential and commercial assets.
This role offers exposure across multiple areas of the investment lifecycle, including asset management, portfolio analytics, financing, and investor reporting. The position works closely with internal investment and operations teams, as well as external partners, and provides visibility into broader fund-level activities such as capital formation and portfolio strategy.
This is a highly collaborative environment with direct interaction with senior leadership, offering an opportunity to develop a well-rounded skillset within institutional real estate investing.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct financial analysis across a portfolio of operationally intensive assets (e.g., hospitality, seniors housing, healthcare, and other commercial sectors), including:
- Annual business plan reviews
- Periodic valuation analysis
- Ongoing asset-level performance monitoring
Partner with third-party operators, property managers, and equity partners to execute business plans and drive value creation initiatives across a range of scenarios (lease-up, redevelopment, capital improvements, competitive positioning, etc.)
Perform market research and competitive analysis to inform underwriting assumptions and pricing strategies
Maintain and update asset-level financial models, including historical and projected cash flows; evaluate performance under various operating and market scenarios
Support development and tracking of portfolio KPIs to enhance asset-level accountability and overall portfolio returns
Collaborate with investment professionals on value-add strategies, including NOI growth initiatives, capital structuring decisions, and disposition timing
Interface with lenders, brokers, and external capital partners to support financing, recapitalizations, and asset sales
Prepare institutional-quality reporting materials for internal stakeholders and investors on a recurring and ad hoc basis
Qualifications
~2+ years of relevant experience in real estate asset management, portfolio management, or a related field
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel (experience with BI or data aggregation tools is a plus)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to senior stakeholders and external partners
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
Willingness to travel periodically for asset and market visits
Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and receptiveness to feedback
Bachelor's degree with a strong academic track record
