Asia Tech Investment Analyst | Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a ~2bn USD Asia-focused multi-strategy hedge fund in seeking a fundamental Investment Analyst to join their team in Hong Kong. This role will work closely with a PM, and will focus on the Hardware and Semiconductor Tech space across Asia with a tilt towards Taiwanese stocks.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct deep fundamental research on Asian Semi and Hardware Tech stocks with a tilt towards Taiwan
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks, with a strong grasp of technology cycles, pricing trends, and earnings drivers.
- Analyze company-level, industry, and macro factors, including global technology trends, AI-related demand, semiconductor cycles, and geopolitical considerations.
- Partner closely with portfolio managers to debate, refine, and implement investment theses.
- Prepare and present investment recommendations clearly and thoughtfully to the investment team.
- Monitor existing positions, key catalysts, and risk exposures, with ongoing performance and thesis tracking.
- Stay current on earnings releases, corporate developments, and structural trends across the Taiwan semiconductor and broader technology ecosystem.
Requirements:
- Approximately 3-8 years of relevant experience in equity research / investing
- Open to individuals with buyside (LO or L/S) or sellside (Equity Research or Investment Banking) backgrounds
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
- Able to conduct deep dive fundamental research.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English strongly preferred
- Solid communication skills with the ability to articulate investment ideas effectively.
- High intellectual curiosity, discipline, and attention to detail.
