AI Analytics Engineer
Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking an AI Analytics Engineer to join its London-based Front Office Technology and Research Enablement team. You will design and implement solutions that enhance trading decisions and research workflows by building AI assistants, automation tools, and advanced Excel models integrated with Python. You will be optimising data extraction and summarisation using LLM APIs, developing data pipelines, and creating dashboards and rapid-prototyping tools for quant researchers. This role offers hands-on exposure to large language models, automation frameworks, and advanced analytics while collaborating closely with front-office teams to solve real-world investment challenges. Responsibilities:
- AI & Automation: Build AI assistants, automate workflows, and integrate LLM tools into Excel.
- Excel Engineering: Develop advanced models, optimise performance, and automate analyst processes.
- Data & Analytics: Create pipelines, dashboards, and rapid-prototyping tools for quant teams.
- Collaboration: Partner with PMs and analysts to deliver tech solutions and train on AI capabilities.
Requirements:
- 3-6 years in finance, hedge funds, fintech, or advanced Excel roles.
- Expert-level Excel skills (formulas, VBA, troubleshooting).
- Proficient in Python (Pandas, NumPy, API calls).
- Practical experience with AI/LLM tools (OpenAI, Claude, GitHub Copilot).
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
