Firm Overview: We are currently representing a middle-market private equity firm seeking to add a Private Equity Associate to its investment team. The firm has an established track record of partnering with founder-led and family-owned businesses, focusing on operational value creation and long-term growth. With significant capital to deploy and an active investment pipeline, the team is looking to hire a Private Equity Associate who will play a key role in evaluating, executing, and managing investments alongside senior investment professionals. Private Equity Associate Role Overview The incoming Private Equity Associate will gain exposure to all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio management. This Private Equity Associate position offers direct interaction with senior leadership, portfolio company executives, and external advisors while providing a strong platform for long-term growth within private equity. The role can be based in either St. Louis, MO or Boston, MA.
Private Equity Associate Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of investment banking experience from a reputable institution.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, valuation, and communication skills expected of a top-tier Private Equity Associate.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a long-term career in private equity.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
Private Equity Associate Responsibilities
- Conduct company, industry, and market research to support investment underwriting and evaluation.
- Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and return projections for potential investments.
- Support due diligence efforts by working closely with management teams, lenders, consultants, and third-party advisors.
- Prepare investment committee materials and transaction presentations for senior investment professionals.
- Assist in the execution of platform investments, add-on acquisitions, and strategic portfolio initiatives.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and support value creation efforts across existing investments.
- Collaborate with senior team members throughout all stages of the private equity investment process.
