Position Overview

The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing and strategic management of a book of large-group employee benefits clients, including both fully insured and self-funded plans. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while overseeing renewals, compliance initiatives, vendor relationships, and ongoing account management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of client service for an assigned book of business.
  • Coordinate client onboarding, renewals, and implementation activities.
  • Lead the renewal process, including market analysis, RFP development, vendor negotiations, and presentation of recommendations.
  • Conduct open enrollment and client meetings as needed.
  • Provide guidance on employee benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client service issues, including escalated claims concerns.
  • Review plan performance and utilization data, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate employee communications and enrollment support.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Maintain accurate client records and data within agency management systems.
  • Support cross-selling opportunities and identify additional client needs.
  • Educate clients on industry trends, legislative developments, and market changes.
  • Assist with vendor management and contract review activities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in employee benefits account management, client services, or consulting.
  • Experience supporting large-group employers, including fully insured and self-funded plans.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits compliance and health & welfare regulations.
  • Experience leading renewals, RFP processes, and carrier negotiations.
  • Active Life and Health license required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced client-focused environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Large-group employee benefits consulting or brokerage experience.
  • Experience working with self-funded medical programs.
  • Vendor management and strategic client consulting experience.
  • Familiarity with employee benefits administration technology and enrollment platforms.
