VP - Credit Officer
You will assess credit proposals across either Leveraged Finance or Financial Institutions segments, ensuring transactions meet the bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards. Operating within the second line of defence, you will support portfolio monitoring, early‑warning analysis, and the continuous refinement of the credit risk framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in‑depth credit and rating analysis for leveraged borrowers or FI counterparties, including drafting credit papers and sector assessments.
- Provide clear, evidence‑based recommendations to senior approvers on new transactions and renewals.
- Challenge front‑office assumptions to balance credit quality, capital efficiency, and commercial objectives.
- Act as the credit counterpart for relationship teams, product specialists, and first‑line sector leads.
- Deliver concise credit advice and briefings to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with regional and global credit divisions to maintain consistent risk standards.
- Support portfolio monitoring, risk appetite development, and early‑warning processes.
- Track market, sector, and regulatory developments to anticipate emerging risks.
- Contribute to internal projects and mentor junior team members.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 7 years' experience in credit risk within financial services, with expertise in either Leveraged Finance OR Financial Institutions (bank, insurance, or NBFI) credit analysis.
- Strong understanding of credit fundamentals, structured or FI‑specific lending, derivatives, and relevant documentation (e.g., LMA).
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations for credit approval and monitoring.
- Excellent financial analysis skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Fluent English required.
