Position Requirements
- Completed First and Second State Examinations in German Law (Erstes und Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen), or qualification as a solicitor under English law, or an equivalent legal qualification from another jurisdiction.
- Post-qualification experience in banking/finance law, gained at a leading international law firm, financial institution, or other regulated entity.
- Proven expertise in both banking/finance law and regulatory matters.
- Excellent drafting skills in English legal context. Drafting skills in German and French will be regarded as an asset.
- Experience coordinating input across multinational internal teams and external advisors (law firms, consultants, auditors).
Key Responsibilities
- Consult on all legal areas across relevant areas of banking and finance law, with a focus on asset-based financing (e.g., aircraft and helicopter financing), joint ventures, and corporate financing.
- Advise on international asset and supplier financing transactions, including drafting, negotiation, and execution of related legal documentation.
- Develop and draft new transaction templates for various deal types, with a particular focus in the context of financing.
- Review and update existing standard documentation to ensure compliance and relevance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including credit and loan agreements, security documentation, suretyships, repos, confidentiality agreements, and cooperation agreements.
- Identify and assess potential legal risks in financing contracts and transaction structures.
- Deliver legal training to other departments and support the preparation of standard contractual documents for finance transactions.
- Provide legal support and active involvement for processes involving new products.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance.
