Senior FP&A Analyst

Our client, a leading Life & Annuity Insurance Firm, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior FP&A Analyst to join their finance. This role is critical in driving strategic financial insights, supporting executive decision-making, and enhancing financial performance through robust forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in insurance finance, particularly in life and annuity products, and a strong command of financial modeling and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for the life and annuity business lines.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support profitability analysis, capital planning, and scenario modeling.
  • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and investment teams to analyze product performance, reserve trends, and investment income.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and executive dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as M&A evaluations, reinsurance transactions, and new product launches with financial impact assessments.
  • Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying risks and opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and corporate financial policies.
  • Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA/CFA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 2 years in the life and annuity insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles, statutory reporting, and actuarial concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with Hyperion, TM1, Adaptive Insights, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
