Quantitative Researcher (Python) - High-Frequency Trading
Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid/On‑site)
A top-tier proprietary trading firm is expanding its quantitative research team in Amsterdam. The firm operates in a highly data-driven, low-latency environment and is known for deploying systematic strategies across global markets in a high-frequency setting.
This role is well-suited for a quantitative researcher who enjoys working close to production, has strong Python skills, and is motivated by solving real-world trading problems at speed and scale.
What You'll Do
- Research, develop, and evaluate quantitative trading signals and strategies using large-scale market data
- Design and maintain research pipelines in Python for data analysis, backtesting, and simulation
- Work closely with traders and engineers to translate research into production-ready strategies
- Analyze performance, risk, and behaviour of live strategies and propose ongoing improvements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of research tooling and methodologies
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in quantitative research, statistical modelling, or machine learning
- Advanced Python skills for research and data analysis (NumPy, pandas, SciPy, etc.)
- Solid understanding of probability, statistics, and time-series analysis
- Experience working with large financial datasets and research backtesting frameworks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in high-frequency trading or systematic trading
- Exposure to market microstructure or intraday trading signals
- Familiarity with Linux-based research environments
- Experience collaborating closely with low-latency engineering or trading teams
