About the Job

A well-established real estate investment and development platform is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support financial operations across active development projects. This role will serve as a key point of coordination for development-related payment activity, budget monitoring, and invoice processing, working closely with senior leadership, accounting teams, and external partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and facilitate approval of construction-related payment requests for active projects
  • Analyze contractor payment submissions, including standard industry forms, and determine acceptability for processing
  • Confirm receipt and accuracy of required documentation such as lien releases prior to payment
  • Coordinate funding disbursements with the accounting team following internal authorization
  • Support periodic internal reviews by assisting with development budget reconciliations
  • Ensure all required developer documentation accompanies payment submissions and follow up as needed
  • Assess monthly budget adjustments, flag potential issues, and validate completeness and compliance
  • Prepare expense documentation, meeting notes, and scheduling materials as directed by senior leadership
  • Generate vendor invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and manage routine administrative coordination
  • Organize, maintain, and distribute project files internally and externally using shared document platforms
  • Gather third-party invoices related to closings and development draws for timely processing
  • Review and properly categorize incoming invoices before routing for approval
  • Maintain tracking logs of invoices received, approved, and paid
  • Submit approved invoices to accounting and follow up on unpaid items to ensure resolution


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related discipline preferred
  • Experience with development-focused accounting, including project‑based financial processes
  • Prior professional experience at a real estate development or construction-focused organization
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant accounting or development finance experience
  • Strong understanding of development workflows, documentation requirements, and payment cycles
