With a growing portfolio in Medical Professional Liability (MPL), they are seeking a skilled actuary to support the continued growth and profitability of this line. This is a fully remote opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team.


Position Overview

The Professional Liability Actuary will be responsible for pricing and strategic actuarial support for the medical malpractice book. This role will work closely with underwriting, claims, and executive leadership to provide data-driven insights and ensure sound actuarial practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine pricing models for medical professional liability products.
  • Partner with underwriting to evaluate risk and support product development.
  • Analyze claims trends, loss development, and exposure data.
  • Present actuarial findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory filings and reinsurance negotiations.
  • Mentor junior actuarial staff and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • ACAS required; FCAS preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience, with a focus on professional liability-ideally medical malpractice.
  • Proficiency in actuarial tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, R, Python, SQL).
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
