Overview:
Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Insurance Product Development Manager to lead the design, development, and management of insurance products, with a focus on property and general liability lines. This role is critical in shaping product strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing customer value across multiple states.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in insurance product development, regulatory filings, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in driving innovation, maintaining competitive offerings, and supporting profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development and maintenance of insurance products, including coverage forms, endorsements, rates, and rules.
  • Manage the full product filing lifecycle-drafting, submitting, and tracking filings with state insurance departments to ensure timely approvals and compliance.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to recommend product enhancements and maintain market relevance.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, legal, compliance, and IT teams to design and implement new products and product changes.
  • Develop detailed user specifications and technical documentation to guide system development and product implementation.
  • Provide underwriting guidance, training materials, and process updates to support effective product rollout and execution.
  • Review and validate technical documentation, including manuals, forms, and rate filings, to ensure accuracy and alignment with product strategy.
  • Advise senior leadership on product strategy and lead initiatives to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to state laws and implementing necessary operational changes.
  • Work independently while fostering strong collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance product management, with a strong focus on compliance and regulatory filings.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, product development processes, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with SERFF, ISO or AAIS tools, Microsoft Excel, and other product management platforms.
