Job Description:
My client is a middle-market private equity firm based in New York City with approximately $5 billion AUM. The firm has been around for over 15 years and they've done over 60 MM transactions. The firm specializes in control investments across the industrial and consumer sectors, with a strong focus on operational transformation and business improvement.
The Associate / Senior Associate will play an integral role on a lean deal team, supporting all aspects of the investment process. This includes sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring portfolio investments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in investment banking, private equity, or a similar transactional environment with exposure to industrials, manufacturing, or consumer products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and industry research
- Lead due diligence efforts across functional areas
- Prepare investment memoranda and materials for internal Investment Committee review
- Support deal execution including negotiations, documentation, and closing
- Collaborate with portfolio company management to implement strategic and operational initiatives
- Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in private equity or investment banking
- Strong modeling, analytical, and presentation skills
- Must have experience with either industrials or consumer sectors
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
