Model Validator
We're looking for a skilled Model Validator to join a collaborative and international risk team in a multinational bank. In this role, you'll assess the integrity and performance of critical financial models across the bank, ensuring they meet regulatory and internal standards. You'll work closely with stakeholders across departments, offering insights that directly influence decision-making and risk strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Review: Independently validate high-impact models used for pricing, valuation, and risk (e.g., IRRBB, IFRS9, IRB).
- Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of model governance frameworks and internal standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units and risk teams to understand model context and communicate findings.
- Cross-Functional Exposure: Gain insight into a wide range of financial products and processes through model assessments.
- Advisory Role: Provide actionable recommendations that are respected and implemented by model owners and senior management.
Key Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Econometrics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Experience: 5-7 years in model validation or development within financial services.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Solid understanding of frameworks such as BIS, EBA, CRD, and IFRS.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in tools like Python, R, SQL, Excel/VBA, or Matlab.
- Communication: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to clearly articulate complex findings in English.
- Residency: Must reside in the Netherlands; visa sponsorship is available.
