Middle Office Associate - Rates, Volatility, Derivatives
Opportunity to join a leading multi-strategy investment firm (~$10B+ AUM) with a strong presence across volatility, derivatives, and quantitative strategies. This role sits at the center of the trading floor, supporting complex products across rates, options, and credit derivatives, and is ideal for a highly motivated Middle Office professional with direct exposure to interest rate products, volatility strategies, and derivatives trading workflows.
In this role, you will partner closely with trading desks, risk, treasury, and technology teams to support the full trade lifecycle across a wide range of listed and OTC derivatives, with a particular focus on rates and volatility-linked products. You will gain daily exposure to complex instruments including interest rate swaps, swaptions, CDS/CDX products, and options, ensuring operational accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced trading environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time trade support across rates, volatility, and derivatives desks, ensuring accurate capture and validation of trades
- Manage confirmations and settlements for complex OTC products including interest rate swaps, swaptions, CDS, CDX, and options
- Perform daily reconciliations across positions, cash, and collateral, investigating and resolving breaks
- Collaborate with counterparties and trading teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth execution
- Partner with Risk to ensure accurate reporting across market, credit, and operational exposures
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and operational controls across derivatives processing
Qulaifications
- 5+ years of Middle Office / Operations experience within an investment bank, hedge fund, or asset manager
- Strong product knowledge across rates, volatility, and derivatives, including:
- Interest Rate Swaps & Swaptions
- Options (listed and OTC)
- Credit derivatives (CDS / CDX / CDX Options)
- Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle (trade capture, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation)
- Experience with platforms such as MarkitWire, ICE Link, CTM, Traiana, NYFIX
