M&A Director - Boutique Investment Bank
Role Overview
Our client is a well-established boutique investment bank seeking an experienced M&A Director to join its advisory team. This role will focus on leading and executing complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, working closely with entrepreneurs, corporates, financial sponsors, and international counterparties.
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level judgment, strong deal leadership experience, and an international perspective to a highly entrepreneurial advisory platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions, including buy-side, sell-side, and cross-border deals
- Act as a senior advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on transaction structuring, valuation, negotiation, and execution
- Originate and develop new client relationships, and support deal sourcing and business development initiatives
- Coordinate and manage transaction processes, including due diligence, financial and valuation analysis, deal documentation, and negotiations
- Work closely with legal advisors, accountants, and other professional parties throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Mentor junior bankers and contribute to the development of the firm's advisory capabilities
Key Requirements
- 20+ years of professional experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, or corporate finance
- Proven track record of leading and closing complex M&A transactions, particularly cross-border deals
- Overseas background strongly preferred, including international education and/or professional experience
- Strong understanding of global capital markets, deal structuring, and transaction documentation
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate independently in a lean, high-autonomy boutique environment
- Fluency in English required; Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred
