Director, Business Management (Equities)
Overview
The Business Management & Program function drives strategic initiatives across business growth, infrastructure, and controls. Acting as a bridge between front office and support teams, it ensures operational excellence and implementation of best practices in a collaborative, high-transparency environment.
Focused on the Equities & Global Markets business, this role is responsible for enhancing both the commercial and operational effectiveness of the trading desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Initiatives: Lead cross-functional transformation projects to support equities growth, including electronic trading capabilities
- Commercial Efficiency: Identify and implement improvements to processes that drive revenue growth and cost optimisation
- Platform Development: Deliver and manage market initiatives, particularly low-touch / electronic trading programs
- Governance & Controls: Embed robust control frameworks across business activities and change initiatives
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with senior stakeholders and lead governance forums to align strategy and execution
Requirements
- Experience: 8-10 + years within financial markets, with strong Global Markets knowledge
- Expertise: Proven background in business management, process optimisation, and electronic trading environments
- Execution: Track record of delivering complex initiatives end-to-end
- Skillset: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a solutions-driven mindset
- Communication: Confident stakeholder manager with strong interpersonal skills
