Our client, a leading global quantitative and systematic investment firm, is seeking a Data Specialist to support their research and trading technology environment. They operates across all major liquid asset classes and are known for their scientific, data‑driven, and highly collaborative culture.
What You'll Do
As a Data Specialist, you will play a central role in managing and scaling the datasets that power quantitative research and systematic trading:
- Manage large and diverse datasets used by researchers and traders
- Help design and implement the firm's central data store and associated APIs
- Monitor data-fetching pipelines and maintain high data quality
- Integrate new and alternative datasets
- Partner closely with quantitative researchers and traders to support their workflow needs
What You Bring
- 2+ years of relevant experience (data engineering, research technology, or similar)
- Solid knowledge of Python and strong understanding of code‑quality best practices
- Ability to understand user needs and turn them into technical solutions
- Experience with structured and unstructured data (a plus)
- Familiarity with financial datasets (equities/derivatives) is beneficial
- Curiosity, autonomy, and a passion for working with modern data technologies
Strong Emphasis on Python
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working extensively with Python, including building pipelines in Python, developing APIs in Python, and supporting research workflows that heavily rely on Python.
