This position supports insurance-specific data calls, regulatory filings, operational reporting, and internal system integrations, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and data security protocols.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain data integration workflows across insurance platforms (e.g., policy administration, claims, billing, CRM, reporting systems).
  • Develop and manage the submission of insurance data calls, including regulatory, statistical, and reinsurance reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Compliance) to gather data requirements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to automate data extraction and submission.
  • Ensure adherence to industry data standards (e.g., ACORD, ISO, NAIC) and internal data governance policies.
  • Coordinate data exchanges with external entities such as vendors, reinsurers, MGAs, and regulatory bodies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data mappings, integration specifications, and process diagrams.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and testing activities related to data interfaces.
  • Monitor integration processes and proactively resolve data quality issues, transmission errors, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide timely and accurate data extracts for audits and regulatory examinations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in data integration, ETL development, or application programming, preferably in the insurance sector.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and APIs/web services (REST, SOAP).
  • Familiarity with insurance operations and regulatory reporting (e.g., NAIC, state-level data calls).
  • Understanding of data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, and EDI.
  • Ability to interpret and work with insurance data structures (e.g., policy, claims, premium, loss).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or custom-built systems.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GLBA), and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
