Job Title: Catastrophe Modeling Analyst
Location: Hybrid (Boston, NYC, or New Jersey) - 3 days in person, 2 days remote
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join their team. This role will focus on their commercial property book, utilizing advanced modeling techniques to assess and manage risks associated with natural perils. The ideal candidate will have experience with catastrophe modeling software, particularly AIR, and a strong background in natural peril analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed catastrophe modeling and risk assessments for commercial property portfolios.
- Utilize AIR software to analyze and interpret data related to natural perils.
- Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to integrate modeling insights into business decisions.
- Develop and maintain catastrophe models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor and report on industry trends and emerging risks related to natural perils.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of risk mitigation strategies and policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience with catastrophe modeling software, with a preference for AIR.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in catastrophe risk at an insurance company
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
