Overview
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead agent acquisition and drive expansion of a growing insurance network. This is a high impact, revenue focused role suited for a senior professional with a strong background in Property and Casualty insurance and consultative sales.
This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and onboarding top tier independent agents and agency owners. Success requires a deep understanding of agent economics, distribution challenges, and the motivations of high performing producers who are looking to transition or scale.
You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Operations to refine positioning, improve conversion, and strengthen the overall go to market strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Agent Acquisition Strategy
Develop and execute targeted strategies to attract experienced Property and Casualty agents, producers, and agency owners.Pipeline Management
Own the full business development lifecycle from prospecting through onboarding, ensuring an efficient and high quality sales process.Consultative Selling
Understand the needs and challenges of insurance agents and clearly communicate the value of a modern, technology enabled distribution model.Partnership Development
Build and maintain strong relationships with independent agents, agency owners, and industry stakeholders to support sustained growth.Market Intelligence and Feedback
Gather insights from prospects and market trends to inform Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams and support continuous improvement.Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal teams to enhance sales processes, messaging, and the agent onboarding experience.Performance Tracking
Monitor key performance indicators and adjust strategies to improve conversion rates and overall business performance.Brand Representation
Represent the organization at industry events, networking opportunities, and professional associations.
Qualifications
- 5 plus years of experience in sales or business development with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding goals
- MUST HAVE AGENCY OWNER EXPERIENCE
- 3 plus years of experience in Property and Casualty insurance
- Proven success selling to experienced agents or agency owners
- Strong understanding of independent agency operations and producer economics
- Experience working in a startup or high growth environment preferred
- Ability to operate independently with strong ownership and accountability
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and outbound sales tools
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
