Business Development Manager (Market Making)
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence across Asia-Pacific. This role will focus on sourcing, developing, and managing relationships with exchanges, institutional clients, token projects (if crypto), and other strategic partners.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial markets, trading ecosystems, and liquidity solutions, combined with a proven track record in client acquisition and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, target, and onboard new clients including exchanges, institutional investors, brokers, and token issuers
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth across APAC
- Pitch market-making and liquidity solutions tailored to client needs
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to deal closure
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key partners and clients
- Act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
Market & Industry Insights
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments in Hong Kong and the broader region
- Provide insights to internal teams to refine product offerings and trading strategies
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with trading, quant, and product teams to structure competitive liquidity solutions
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, conferences, and brand positioning
Representation & Networking
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Build a strong external network within the financial and digital asset ecosystem
Requirements
Experience
- 3-8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within:
- Market making firms
- Crypto/digital asset firms (preferred if applicable)
- Trading, brokerage, or financial services
- Proven track record of closing deals and achieving revenue targets
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of market structure, liquidity provision, and trading products
- Familiarity with exchanges, OTC trading, or institutional trading workflows
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
Language
- Fluent in English; Mandarin or Cantonese is highly advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network across exchanges, funds, or token/crypto projects
- Experience working with algorithmic trading or electronic market-making firms
- Understanding of Hong Kong regulatory environment (e.g., SFC framework)
