Actuarial Analyst
Location: Flint, MI
Summary:
P&C Insurance client seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing Actuarial Analyst to join our Personal Lines Insurance team. This role is responsible for supporting pricing strategies through data analysis, modeling, and actuarial techniques to ensure profitability and competitiveness across personal lines products such as auto, homeowners, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain pricing models using actuarial software and statistical tools.
- Analyze loss trends, rate indications, and profitability metrics to support rate filings and pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product management, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business goals.
- Prepare and submit regulatory rate filings, ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations.
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to identify opportunities and risks.
- Support the development of predictive models and machine learning applications for pricing and risk segmentation.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
- 5 years of actuarial experience in personal lines insurance preferred.
- Progress toward ACAS/FCAS designation (e.g., passing actuarial exams).
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and actuarial software (e.g., SAS, R, Python, Emblem, Radar).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
