Trade Surveillance Officer
A market multinational market marker is seeking a skilled Trade Surveillance Compliance Officer for their London office. They have a global proprietary trading arm and operating their multilateral trading facility (MTF). This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, offering a unique opportunity to influence the compliance framework of a fast-paced, tech-driven trading environment.
You'll be instrumental in ensuring the firm's trading activities remain compliant with a complex and evolving regulatory landscape, with a particular focus on trade surveillance and market conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the firm's trade surveillance program across asset classes and trading venues.
- Monitor for potential market abuse, insider trading, and other forms of misconduct using automated surveillance tools.
- Investigate alerts, document findings, and escalate issues where necessary.
- Collaborate with trading, technology, and legal teams to ensure surveillance systems are effective and regulatory-compliant.
- Support regulatory reporting and respond to inquiries from regulators and exchanges.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures in line with regulatory developments.
- Provide compliance input into new business initiatives and system changes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in trade surveillance within a trading firm, investment bank, or exchange.
- Strong working knowledge of EU capital markets key regulatory frameworks such as MiFID, MiFIR, EMIR, and MAR.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex trading data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
