A rapidly growing private equity backed aviation company is seeking a Tax Manager to join its finance leadership team. The business operates in a dynamic and technical environment with continued investment, expansion of service lines, and strategic acquisitions. Position Overview
The Tax Manager will oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance, support tax planning initiatives, and serve as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors. This individual will be responsible for refining internal processes, improving reporting capabilities, and ensuring compliance across a multi entity structure. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands on work and strategic projects while operating in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all federal, state, and local income tax compliance across multiple entities
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including ASC 740 reporting
- Maintain the companys tax calendar and ensure timely filings and payments
- Collaborate with external advisors on complex tax matters, audits, and special projects
- Support tax planning and structuring for acquisitions, new entity formations, and other strategic initiatives
- Analyze the tax impact of business transactions, commercial terms, and new contracts
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and evaluate their potential impact on the business
- Work closely with accounting, finance, and legal teams to streamline processes and improve internal controls
- Provide leadership in building a scalable tax infrastructure as the company expands
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field; Masters in Tax or CPA preferred
- Four to eight years of progressive tax experience, ideally including public accounting
- Strong background in federal and state tax
- Experience working with multi entity structures; exposure to aviation or transportation is a plus but not required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, growing environment
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior leadership and private equity stakeholders
- Detail oriented, organized, and proactive in identifying process improvements
