Senior Restructuring & Special Situations Analyst
We are seeking a seasoned credit professional to join a platform as a Senior Analyst specializing in stressed, distressed, and restructuring situations. This individual will be embedded within our leveraged credit effort and will work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and legal partners across the broader fixed‑income organization. The position offers meaningful influence on portfolio outcomes within a flat, collaborative team structure and provides a path to broaden leadership responsibility as we continue to expand our workout and special‑situations capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with investment, trading, legal, and research teams to manage complex stressed and distressed credits, both in‑court and out‑of‑court, with a focus on maximizing recoveries and long‑term value.
- Lead or support restructuring processes, liability management initiatives, capital structure negotiations, and other workout‑related transactions.
- Represent the firm on creditor, steering, or ad hoc committees, advocating for investor interests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors, legal counsel, and other restructuring market participants.
- Develop detailed credit work including financial modeling, scenario analysis, recovery sensitivities, and capital structure evaluations.
- Support credit analysts across industries by providing specialized restructuring insight on stressed or impaired positions.
- Deliver clear and timely updates to internal stakeholders on deal progress, evolving dynamics, and key risks.
- Source and evaluate opportunistic credit and new‑money financing opportunities across the capital structure.
- Maintain disciplined surveillance of existing investments and relevant sector trends.
- Enhance internal processes, frameworks, and best practices for evaluating and managing distressed investments.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of direct experience in distressed, special situations, or restructuring roles (buy‑side experience preferred).
- Demonstrated track record executing restructuring transactions and navigating complex, multi‑party negotiations.
- Strong desire to continue developing as an investor within a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, including experience with scenario‑based financial modeling.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external constituencies in situations involving competing priorities.
- Exceptional project‑management capability and the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Highly effective written and verbal communicator who can articulate investment viewpoints clearly and concisely.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with legal documentation or restructuring processes is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA is beneficial but not required.
