Senior Python Developer

We're working with a fast-growing technology-led trading and analytics business looking to add a Python Developer to their engineering team. This role sits close to the core of the business, building systems that directly support trading, data processing, and decision making.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and building scalable Python services used in production
- Working with large, real-time and historical datasets
- Developing APIs and backend systems that integrate with internal tools and external data sources
- Collaborating closely with traders, quants, and other engineers to deliver impactful solutions
- Improving performance, reliability, and observability across systems
- Contributing to system architecture and technical direction
What they're looking for
- Strong Python experience in a production environment
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with databases (SQL and or NoSQL)
- A practical mindset, someone who enjoys solving real business problems
Nice to have
- Experience working in trading, financial services, or data-heavy environments
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to event-driven architecture or streaming technologies
