Senior Cost Analyst
Our client, a global leader in the confectionery manufacturing space, is seeking a Cost Analyst to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to drive cost optimization and productivity initiatives while partnering closely with Operations and Finance in a dynamic, people-first environment.
About the Role
The Cost Analyst will play a key role in loss elimination, cost reduction, and performance tracking. This position involves building tools to monitor KPIs, analyzing cost drivers, and ensuring accurate product costing. The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to lead improvement initiatives and enhance visibility into plant-level performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools and resources to identify, quantify, and monitor plant losses
- Track KPIs, production standards, and direct fixed cost spending
- Assess financial viability of productivity projects and improvement plans
- Analyze volume, SKU/mix portfolio, asset utilization, and labor optimization
- Ensure accurate product costing and validate shift-level data integrity
- Communicate financial risks and opportunities related to loss elimination plans
- Partner with Operations and Finance to lead improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- TPM/Lean experience is a plus
Compensation & Work Model
- Location: Rockford, IL (Onsite)
- Salary: $60K-$80K for junior candidates; $100K+ for senior-level experience
