About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join their team. This role is pivotal in evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting complex commercial insurance risks. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to agents and policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite complex commercial property and casualty risks within established authority levels.
- Analyze financial statements, loss history, and other relevant data to determine risk acceptability and pricing.
- Collaborate with agents and brokers to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs while maintaining profitability.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
- Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform underwriting decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5-7 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, pricing strategies, and insurance regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
