About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced actuarial professional to support the evaluation and oversight of loss experience across a diverse Property & Casualty portfolio. This role focuses on understanding how claims emerge over time, assessing financial risk, and supporting leadership with clear, well‑reasoned insights that inform business decisions.
The position works closely with finance, claims, and underwriting partners and plays an important role in ensuring that historical performance and future expectations are well understood. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong judgment, technical depth, and the ability to explain complex results in plain language.
Role Focus
* Evaluate historical loss experience and emerging trends across multiple lines of business
* Assess the reasonableness of carried loss estimates and identify key drivers of change
* Perform in‑depth reviews of segments, coverages, and accident periods as needed
* Develop clear explanations for variability in results and communicate implications to stakeholders
* Support recurring financial processes by providing actuarial insight and analysis
* Prepare documentation that supports internal review, audit discussions, and governance needs
* Collaborate with claims partners to understand operational factors impacting loss development
* Provide feedback to underwriting and pricing teams based on observed performance
* Contribute to improvements in tools, workflows, and analytical approaches over time
What Our Client Is Looking For
* Deep experience working with P&C loss experience and long‑tail dynamics
* Strong actuarial judgment and the ability to evaluate results from multiple perspectives
* Comfort working with incomplete or evolving data and forming reasonable conclusions
* Advanced Excel skills and experience using actuarial or analytical tools
* Ability to clearly explain findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Experience supporting regulated financial reporting environments
* Self‑directed work style with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience & Background
* ACAS or FCAS
* Significant experience in a reserving, analytics, or financial risk role within P&C insurance
* Exposure to multiple product lines and business segments
* Experience interacting with finance teams, auditors, or governance partners
* Familiarity with reinsurance concepts is helpful but not required
* Interest in process improvement or automation is a plus
