Senior Actuarial Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Actuarial Analyst to support pricing and rate development initiatives across our health insurance products. This role is ideal for a candidate with a few years of actuarial experience who is actively pursuing ASA designation and looking to deepen their expertise in rate analysis and pricing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and review of premium rates for individual and group health products.
- Perform trend analysis, cost modeling, and financial forecasting to inform pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and product teams to align pricing strategies with business goals.
- Assist in regulatory filings and rate submissions, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Analyze claims data and utilization patterns to identify cost drivers and pricing opportunities.
- Document methodologies and present findings to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of actuarial experience, preferably in health insurance pricing or rate development.
- Completion of several actuarial exams; actively pursuing ASA designation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and actuarial software; experience with SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ACA, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid pricing frameworks.
- Experience with regulatory rate filings and actuarial memorandums.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
