Quant Researcher Systematic Equities Stat Arb
We are partnered with a leading systematic investment firm hiring a Quant Researcher to join their Systematic Equities Stat Arb platform, with a core focus on alpha research and signal generation.
This is a hands‑on research role for someone already experienced in equity stat arb, looking to take ownership of alpha research and see their work move directly into production.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and validate statistical arbitrage alpha signals across global equity markets
- Work with large‑scale datasets including price, volume, fundamental, alternative, and derived features
- Apply statistical modelling and machine‑learning techniques for cross‑sectional and time‑series alpha discovery
- Partner closely with portfolio management and trading teams to deploy signals into live strategies
- Monitor live performance, conduct post‑trade analysis, and refine models over time
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in systematic equities stat arb alpha research (hedge fund or top‑tier prop firm)
- Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and financial time series
- Excellent programming skills in Python (experience working within research frameworks and large datasets)
- Demonstrated experience in signal testing, feature engineering, and overfitting control
- Master's degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
