Private Equity Manager
Core Duties
Responsibilities will vary based on client needs and fund structures but may include:
- Coordinating capital activity such as investor contributions and distributions
- Producing periodic valuations and financial reports
- Calculating management and performance fees, and allocating profits/losses
- Building and updating waterfall models for profit distribution
- Generating performance metrics, including IRR calculations
- Handling custom reporting requests from clients and investors
- Acting as a liaison between clients and internal leadership to ensure service consistency
- Maintaining a strong internal control environment for accounting operations
- Leading a team of up to 10 professionals, including training and performance management
- Addressing complex accounting issues escalated by junior staff
- Improving operational workflows and internal procedures
- Overseeing audit processes and ensuring timely completion
- Supporting client onboarding and transitions
- Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
Adaptability is key, as the role may evolve based on business priorities and client expectations.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in fund accounting, ideally within private equity or hedge fund administration
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Experience with fund accounting platforms (e.g., Investran) is highly desirable
- Client-focused with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
