Operations Manager - Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a newly established hedge fund to hire an Operations professional for their day-one team in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking broad responsibilities, real ownership of operational processes, and the chance to grow alongside the fund.
The firm is looking for a candidate with solid experience across the full trade lifecycle, strong understanding of long/short equity workflows, and the capability to manage trade settlements with accuracy and confidence. This is a lean, entrepreneurial environment where each hire plays a meaningful role.
Role Details:
- Oversee trade lifecycle management (trade capture, confirmation, settlement), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of breaks.
- Manage daily P&L, NAV, and position reconciliations with prime brokers, and relevant counterparties.
- Drive process enhancement initiatives to improve workflow efficiency and strengthen operational controls
Requirements:
- 2-8 years of relevant operations experience
- Preference for candidates with buyside backgrounds, ideally with exposure to L/S equity strategies
- Hands‑on experience with the full trade lifecycle, including reconciliation, settlements, etc.
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in growing with the fund
- Bring a willingness to learn, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves and taking ownership
- Coding or automation skills considered a plus, but is not a requirement
