Operations Associate - Hedge Fund Ops
Selby Jennings is partnered with a $4Bn AUM trading firm seeking to hire its first NYC-based professional to oversee the onboarding of new trading businesses, technology, and processes in support of the firm's systematic trading operations. This position requires a process-driven individual with strong experience in leading end-to-end project rollouts and interfacing with front-office personnel such as portfolio managers and quantitative researchers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, support, and oversee the onboarding of new trading teams, strategies, and products.
- Lead the transition from onboarding new portfolio managers to live operations.
- Provide operational support for SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) across multiple trading strategies; perform daily portfolio and fund reconciliations, trade support, and manage new initiatives.
- Facilitate requests and documentation with prime brokers, counterparties, brokers, and vendors.
- Handle ad hoc requests from senior management, risk, compliance, legal, and PM teams.
Qualifications
- 2-7 years of experience in a similar operational role within an investment firm. Experience with systematic strategies is ideal but not required.
- Strong background in managing reconciliation and trade support processes, as well as facilitating requests and documentation with prime brokers, counterparties, brokers, and vendors.
- Ability to utilize SQL for database queries and reporting.
Expected Compensation Range: $120,000 - $180,000 + Annual Cash Bonus
