Job Title: Natural Gas Trader

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced commercial leader to manage and grow relationships across a major Texas Intrastate natural gas system. This role focuses on optimizing transportation and storage assets, developing strategic hedging approaches, and driving commercial growth through collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Trade natural gas on a daily, monthly, and term basis to optimize system performance and capture locational and time spreads.
- Utilize fundamental market analysis to manage transportation and storage hedges, maximizing revenue while aligning with risk appetite.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to ensure efficient pipeline operations and identify new marketing opportunities.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor strategies, and emerging trends to inform commercial decisions.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to senior management for planning and forecasting.
- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to expand system capabilities and design trading strategies that complement growth initiatives.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring succession planning and talent growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering preferred.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in natural gas trading and marketing, with expertise in managing term physical and financial positions related to transportation and storage.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Experience in customer service, marketing, project coordination, and business development is desirable.
- Knowledge of Texas Intrastate systems preferred; prior management experience is a plus.
