L/S Semis Analyst (Multi-Strat)
Company Overview:
A leading multi-manager investment platform is seeking an Investment Associate to join a newly established long/short equity team focused on the Semiconductor sector. The team is led by an experienced Portfolio Manager and is in the early stages of building out coverage. This is an opportunity to join a growing investment platform that combines an entrepreneurial team environment with institutional resources, sophisticated risk management, and extensive research capabilities.
Role Summary:
The team is looking for a highly motivated Investment Associate to support fundamental Semiconductor equity research efforts. Working directly alongside the Portfolio Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in idea generation, company analysis, financial modeling, and portfolio monitoring across the Semiconductor value chain. The role offers meaningful responsibility from day one and significant exposure to the investment decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct deep fundamental research on Semiconductor companies across various subsectors, including analog, digital, memory, foundry, equipment, and semiconductor capital equipment
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, earnings forecasts, and valuation frameworks
- Generate actionable long and short investment ideas through primary and secondary research
- Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, product cycles, and emerging technologies impacting the Semiconductor ecosystem
- Monitor portfolio holdings, earnings releases, channel checks, and key industry data points
- Engage with company management teams, industry experts, suppliers, customers, and sell-side analysts
- Prepare investment memos and communicate recommendations directly to the Portfolio Manager
Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in equity research or investing, preferably covering Semiconductor equities
- Experience on either the buy-side (long/short or long-only) or sell-side Equity Research platform
- Demonstrated passion for public markets and fundamental stock picking
- Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills
- Knowledge of Semiconductor industry drivers, business models, and product cycles
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance investment environment
Location:
Boston, MA
Compensation:
$150K-$175K base salary plus discretionary performance bonus.
