We are partnered with a Global Hedge Fund seeking a highly motivated Junior Equity Research Analyst (1-3 years' experience) to join a successful investment team covering the Semiconductor sector across global markets.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious investor to work directly alongside an experienced Portfolio Manager, developing deep expertise across one of the most dynamic and intellectually demanding areas of the equity market. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying differentiated investment opportunities while building the skillset required for a long-term career in fundamental investing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on semiconductor companies and the broader semiconductor value chain
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and earnings forecasts
- Generate actionable long and short investment ideas
- Analyse industry trends including AI, cloud computing, data centres, automotive semiconductors, analog, memory, foundries and semiconductor equipment
- Assess competitive positioning, technology roadmaps, product cycles and end-market demand drivers
- Meet with management teams, industry consultants, suppliers, customers and sell-side analysts
- Monitor earnings, industry developments and market-moving events
- Present investment recommendations directly to the Portfolio Manager
- Support portfolio construction, risk management and ongoing position monitoring
Candidate Profile
- 1-3 years of experience in either:
- Investment Banking (M&A, TMT, Technology or Industrials teams)
- Buy-side or Sell-side Equity Research
- Hedge Fund or Long-Only Equity Investing
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities
- Genuine passion for investing and public markets
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to develop deep sector expertise
- Ability to synthesise complex information into clear investment views
- Strong communication skills and confidence presenting ideas
Ideal Backgrounds
- Equity Research Analyst covering Semiconductors, Hardware or Technology
- Technology or TMT Investment Banking Analyst with exposure to semiconductor companies
- Buy-side analyst covering Technology, Semiconductors, Software or Hardware
- Individuals with a strong interest in AI infrastructure, data centres, chip design, semiconductor equipment or advanced computing technologies
This role is ideally suited to a high-calibre analyst who combines strong technical capabilities with a genuine passion for investing and technology.
