Our client, a leading global buy-side firm, is seeking an AI Engineer to join its centralised team in London, for their front office stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and innovation, contributing to the integration of AI across trading, research, and operational workflows. You will help design and implement frameworks that make advanced AI capabilities widely accessible across the business, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, agentic process automation, and scalable internal AI tools. You will collaborate closely with quantitative research and technology teams to develop robust AI systems that align with strategic innovation goals. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge large language models (LLMs) and emerging AI architectures, shaping the foundations of enterprise-scale AI adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and maintain scalable AI infrastructure for front-office and research workflows.
  • Develop frameworks for knowledge retrieval, intelligent process automation, and decision support.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance AI solutions.
  • Exposure to agentic AI systems or multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience building internal tools or developer platforms.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD for models, and monitoring pipelines.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers, or OpenAI Agents SDK.
  • Understanding of RAG and LLM orchestration techniques.
  • Experience with APIs, vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, Pinecone, FAISS), and embedding models.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerized environments.
