Investment Banking Associate/VP | Consumer
Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading boutique investment bank focused on advising founder and/or family-led businesses in the consumer sector on mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic growth. Transactions typically range from $50MM to $1Bn+. This team has experienced significant success and is looking to add (1) Associate or VP to its growing Salt Lake City office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support execution of M&A transactions, capital raising, and other strategic initiatives within the consumer sector.
- Conduct detailed industry research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Build and maintain advanced financial models, including valuation, merger consequences, and leveraged buyout analyses.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and marketing materials.
- Work closely with senior bankers and clients to develop strategic insights and recommendations.
- Mentor Analysts and contribute to their professional development.
Qualifications:
- 2-7 years of experience in investment banking or private equity, with a focus on the consumer industry preferred.
- Strong academic background with a degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; background in Accounting or CPA a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
