Head of FP&A

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting:

    • Lead or support the development of annual budgets, multi-year forecasts, and strategic plans.
    • Model cash flows, earnings, and capital impacts related to life and annuity reinsurance transactions.
  • Performance Analysis:

    • Analyze actual vs. forecast results across investment portfolios and insurance liabilities.
    • Provide insights into drivers of profitability, capital efficiency, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Strategic Support:

    • Partner with investment, actuarial, and finance teams to evaluate new reinsurance structures and asset strategies.
    • Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis for strategic decision-making.
  • Reporting & Presentations:

    • Prepare executive-level dashboards, board materials, and investor presentations.
    • Translate complex financial and actuarial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with accounting, actuarial, and investment teams to ensure alignment of financial assumptions and reporting.
    • Support regulatory and rating agency inquiries as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or designation (CPA, CFA, ASA/FSA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, or actuarial roles.
  • Strong understanding of life and annuity products, reinsurance structures, and insurance accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
