Financial Accountant | Assistant Manager | Kowloon Bay
I am working with a client who is looking to bring in a strong, well rounded accountant to take ownership of their financial reporting and controls. This is a great seat for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and wants genuine breadth across reporting, audit and operational finance rather than a narrow, single lane role.
A bit about the role
You will sit at the heart of the finance function, owning the month, quarter and year end close and making sure the reporting that goes to internal and external stakeholders is accurate, complete and on time. Alongside the reporting, you will keep the General Ledger clean, lead the audit relationship, and play a real part in shaping the internal controls environment as the business grows.
What you will be doing
- Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual close and producing high quality financial reports
- Maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger, with accurate recording and reconciliation across the board
- Making sure the business stays fully compliant with local accounting standards, IFRS and relevant regulation
- Acting as the key point of contact for internal and external audits, from preparing schedules through to answering auditor queries
- Helping to design, review and continuously improve internal control procedures
- Providing oversight across AP, AR and cash management, resolving discrepancies and keeping things running smoothly
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting treasury activity to keep liquidity in good shape
- Assisting with master data and fixed asset accounting
What my client is looking for
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or something similar
- A qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a real plus
- Solid grounding in internal controls, compliance and financial best practice
- Comfortable across Microsoft 365 and Power BI, and any SAP Fiori exposure would be welcome
- Someone who can manage a team well and bring a steady, hands on approach
